Residential schools were government-sponsored religious schools established to assimilate Indigenous children into Euro-Canadian culture......residential schools disrupted lives and communities, causing long-term problems among Indigenous peoples.
The Mohawks have on all occasions shown their zeal and loyalty to the Great King; yet they have been very badly treated by his people.
